O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar as possibilidades subjetivas da prática esportiva: Corrida de Rua na cidade de Fortaleza/Ceará, Brasil. Buscou também identificar os sentidos evidenciados pelos sujeitos pesquisados e descrever os aspectos satisfatórios dessa prática esportiva. Diante do fenômeno estudado, observa-se que há possibilidades subjetivas consideradas como potencializadoras que trazem prazer e bem-estar para os sujeitos praticantes da corrida de rua. Mesmo que perpassados pela aceleração do tempo comprimido e relacionamentos efêmeros, como peculiaridades constituintes da sociedade hipermoderna. O interesse no referido estudo decorre da constatação do crescente número de praticantes de corrida de rua na cidade de Fortaleza, bem como a percepção de satisfação advinda dessa prática. Em termos teóricos, partimos dos trabalhos de Cuenca (2003, 2006, 2008) e Marcellino (1990, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2003) como referências centrais para o conceito de ócio e lazer, respectivamente. Trabalhamos a hipermodernidade à luz de Lipovetsky (2004), Bauman (1998, 2002, 2003) e Beriain (2008). E o esporte com base em Stigger (2002, 2005), Bracht (1997). Assim, explanam-se deduções teóricas e de pesquisa de campo referentes às possibilidades subjetivas das práticas esportivas, fruto desta investigação qualitativa de enfoque etnográfico, realizada através de entrevista narrativa, com proposta de tratamento dos dados amparado nas noções da técnica da análise de conteúdo de Bardin (1995, 1997, 2005). Apreendemos dez sentidos centrais atribuídos à corrida de rua, sendo eles: liberdade, motivação intrínseca, desfrute, apreciação estética, descanso, desafio, encontro interpessoal, desenvolvimento pessoal, saúde e estética corporal. Destes, nove se assemelham ao conceito de ócio autotélico e ao lazer ressignificado, um se caracteriza como consequência da sociedade atual permeada pela preocupação com a estética. Encontramos fortes indícios de que o esporte constitui-se uma experiência subjetiva e como possibilidade do sujeito ocupar o lugar de protagonista de sua história, distanciando-se das atividades utilitárias provedoras de vivências vazias de significado. De fato, o esporte tem várias vertentes e o aumento do número de participantes nas corridas de rua encontra-se convocado pelos sentidos subjetivos que são capazes de gerar autoconhecimento e desenvolvimento pessoal e social.

This study aimed to investigate the subjective possibilities of the sport practice: Race Street in the city of Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. It also attempted to identify the directions shown by the subjects and to describe the satisfactory aspects of this sport. Faced with the studied phenomenon, it is observed that there are subjective possibilities considered as potentiating that brings pleasure and well-being for the practitioners of the street race. Even though laden by the acceleration of compressed time and ephemeral relationships, as peculiarities as part of the hypermodern society. The interest in this study arises from the fact of the growing number of practitioners of street racing in Fortaleza as well as the perception of satisfaction arising from this practice. In theoretical terms, we start from the work of Cuenca (2003, 2006, and 2008) and Marcellino (1990, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2003) as key references to the concept of leisure and relaxation, respectively. We work the hypermodernity in light of the Lipovetsky (2004), Bauman (1998, 2002, and 2003) and Beriain (2008). And the sport based on Stigger (2002, 2005) and Bracht (1997). Thus, it explains theoretical derivation and the field research about the possibilities of subjective sports, a result of this qualitative ethnographic research, conducted through narrative interview with proposed treatment of the data supported the notions of the technique of content analysis Bardin (1995, 1997, 2005). Ten senses apprehend central attributed to street racing, they are: freedom, intrinsic motivation, enjoyment, aesthetic appreciation, relaxation, challenge, interpersonal encounter, personal development, health and esthetics. Nine out of them are similar to the concept of leisure and recreation autotelic new meanings, is characterized as a consequence of modern society permeated by a concern with aesthetics. We find strong evidence that the sport constitutes a subjective experience and ability as the subject take the place of the protagonist of his story, distancing themselves from providers of utility activities experience empty of meaning. In fact, the sport has various aspects and increasing the number of participants in road races is convened by the subjective sense that they are capable of generating self-awareness and personal and social development.
