A compreensão cultural de ser no corpo da mulher que se dão as ações de regulação da fecundidade, leva a sociedade a atribuir unicamente a ela a responsabilidade de conhecer e usar métodos contraceptivos. Esta desigualdade nas relações sociais entre homens e mulheres traduz determinados comportamentos sociais que se baseiam em padrões hegemônicos produtores de sofrimento, adoecimento e morte. Neste contexto, a mobilização dos suportes disponibilizados pela rede interpessoal atua como mecanismo de superação, quando a mulher pode lançar mão dos laços familiares e de pessoas conhecidas para resolução de problemas ligados à regulação da fecundidade. Estudo em etno-enfermagem, que se apóia nos referenciais da Teoria da Diversidade e Universalidade do Cuidado Cultural (TDUCC) e Teoria das redes sociais. Teve o objetivo de investigar os suportes sociais utilizados por mulheres no cuidado cultural com a regulação da fecundidade. A coleta de dados foi realizada junto às mulheres assistidas pelo Programa de Planejamento Familiar de um PSF do município de Sobral-Ceará-Brasil, durante os meses de março a novembro de 2005, e segue o modelo de Observação-Participação-Reflexão preconizado pela TDUCC. A entrevista foi utilizada como forma de complementar os dados obtidos por meio da observação participante, tendo atuado como informantes-chave sete mulheres. Os dados foram analisados à luz dos referenciais eleitos, o que permitiu uma organização dos dados de maneira que os suportes foram sendo identificados considerando as várias dimensões sociais, ou fatores sociais e de estilo de vida da pessoa. Os temas de análise permitiram o agrupamento dos dados, levando em conta o cuidado cultural realizado. Como resultado evidenciou-se que a tecnologia presente hoje na questão da regulação da fecundidade configura importante suporte material/instrumental, pela variedade em termos de métodos, técnicas e procedimentos (cirúrgicos ou não cirúrgicos) que permite disponibilizar. Evidenciou-se também a tecnologia pelo número de informações e de recursos informacionais que faz surgir, e pelo suporte emocional/humano atribuído à sofisticação e segurança das práticas profissionais, como também das ações de pessoas comuns no seu cotidiano de regular a concepção de filhos. As recomendações apontadas foram principalmente: atuar nos recursos humanos do PSF estudado, de maneira a potencializar sua função como suporte informacional, e como forma de repercutir na melhoria do atendimento aos usuários; investir em uma maior variedade de contraceptivos orais na unidade de saúde, dando às mulheres opções quanto a esse suporte material que se revelou o mais cogitado; implantar a cultura dos grupos de ajuda, que configurem grupos de mulheres atuando umas para as outras como suporte emocional no campo da regulação da fecundidade.

The cultural comprehension of being in the female body, where take place the fertility regulation actions, leads the society to attribute exclusively to her the responsibility of gathering knowledge on contraceptive methods and of use them. This inequality in the social relations between men and women highlights specific social behaviors that are based on hegemonic templates that produce suffering, illness and death. In this context, the mobilization of social networks around people act as an overcome mechanism, when the woman can use family ties and supportive affective ties of friendly people to deal with problems concerning fetility regulation. This is an ethnonursing research based on the Leininger?s Diversity and Universality of Cultural Care Theory and on the Social Networks Theory. Its goal was to investigate social networks used by women in the cultural care with fertility regulation. Data collection was get from women engaged in Family Planning Program of a singular Primary Health Care Service of Sobral, a town located in the Northeastern Region of Brazil, from March to November of 2005, and it was guided by the Leininger?s observation-participation-reflection model. The interview was used as triangulation method, and its data was gathered from seven women, elected as key informants of our research to validate the analysis. Data analysis was made combining Leininger?s and Social Networks? theoretical frameworks, so that we could organize data to identify social support considering a spectrum of social dimensions and social factors concerning life style of people. The analytic themes allow to group data, highlighting the cultural care made by people. The main result of research we have was the comprehension that the professional knowledge is an important material/instrumental support, due the spectrum of variety of methods, techniques and procedures (surgical or not) that exists in Family Planning Program. Another evidence of that importance was the informational resources, and the human/emotional character of sophistication and safety of professional practices. The supportive actions of lay people in the subjects? life world were also emphasized. The main recommendations were: to proceed an appropriate reorientation of health professional practices to develop them as informational support, as a form to enhance them in a humanistic perspective; to invest in an spectrum of a variety of oral contraceptive in the Primary Health Care Services, giving to women options of choice concerning that material support, the most demanded by users; to implement supportive women groups, where women will care with one another, offering emotional support in the fertility regulation field. Those recommendations demand an specific work of Health Education Professionals focusing the Personal Development and under the Holistic Paradigm of Health Care.
