A presente dissertação objetivou analisar a discriminação de gênero enfrentada pelas mulheres na Polícia Militar do Amazonas, explorando a inclusão feminina na corporação e examinando como essa integração impulsiona discussões sobre diversidade em setores historicamente dominados por homens. Dentro desse contexto, uma análise aprofundada foi conduzida para investigar as relações de poder historicamente desequilibradas, nas quais o predomínio masculino resulta em segregação e obstaculização do avanço das mulheres nos altos cargos militares. Os procedimentos metodológicos empregados incluíram tanto técnicas qualitativas para observar e capturar as vivências das policiais; quanto análises quantitativas, para quantificar a distribuição de gênero. Ao incorporar os conceitos de Bourdieu e Foucault, a pesquisa buscou compreender as estruturas de poder e como as políticas públicas podem promover igualdade substantiva. Além disso, o trabalho buscou se alinhar com os direitos humanos e a legislação brasileira que asseguram proteção às mulheres no ambiente militar. No final, o estudo destacou a importância da presença feminina na polícia e estabeleceu objetivos específicos, como avaliar o perfil feminino na organização e propor recomendações para promover a inclusão e o respeito aos direitos das mulheres. Como conclusão, observou-se que a inclusão de mulheres em ambientes majoritariamente masculinos é frequentemente vista como uma interrupção aos padrões tradicionais e históricos das corporações. Nessa perspectiva, os homens impõem visões tradicionalmente femininas às mulheres para manter a autoridade preestabelecida, perpetuando preconceitos machistas que, em pleno século XXI, devem ser superados.

The present dissertation aimed to analyze the gender discrimination faced by women in the Military Police of the state of Amazonas, exploring female inclusion in the force and examining how this integration stimulates discussions about diversity in sectors historically dominated by men. Within this context, an in-depth analysis was conducted to investigate the historically unbalanced power relations, in which male predominance results in segregation and hinders the advancement of women in high military positions. The methodological procedures employed included both qualitative techniques to observe and capture the experiences of policewomen, as well as quantitative analyses to quantify gender distribution. By incorporating the concepts of Bourdieu and Foucault, the research sought to understand the structures of power and how public policies can promote substantive equality. Furthermore, the study aimed to align with human rights and Brazilian legislation that ensure protection for women in the military environment. In the end, the study highlighted the importance of female presence in the police force and established specific objectives, such as assessing the female profile within the organization and proposing recommendations to promote inclusion and respect for women's rights. As a conclusion, it was observed that the inclusion of women in predominantly male environments is often seen as a disruption to the traditional and historical patterns of these corporations. From this perspective, men impose traditionally feminine views on women to maintain established authority, perpetuating macho prejudices that, in the 21st century, must be overcome.
