O presente trabalho partiu de um desejo genuíno da autora de compreender ainda mais as sutilezas por trás da relação mãe e bebê uma vez que no percurso clínico vivenciado, ficou evidente empiricamente que essa dinâmica seria um momento fundamental por toda a vida do sujeito. A hipótese inicial seria investigar o quanto a constituição psíquica, cognitiva e até física do bebê poderia ser afetada na relação com a mãe e por isso foi escolhido o Instituto da Primeira Infância (IPREDE), mais especificamente a célula de Mediação para avaliar as nuances dessa díade. Assim, foram escolhidas duas mães com seus respectivos filhos para investigar mais a respeito. Partiu-se de um saber epistemológico psicanalítico e prioritariamente das consultas terapêuticas como metodologia de pesquisa bem como um levantamento bibliográfico de autores clássicos e contemporâneos da psicanálise. Por fim, elucidou-se um pouco mais sobre o que essa ciência diria sobre o processo de maternagem em contexto de vulnerabilidade social e na escuta com as mães comprovou-se o quanto se aprofundar sobre a temática ainda se faz relevante e necessário. O quanto as mães, bem como pontuava Winnicott (1957/2021), serão sempre a marca de um débito para todo homem ou mulher que se constitui enquanto sujeito e o quanto desempenhar esse papel já essencialmente vulnerável em um lugar à margem da sociedade pode provocar um desamparo devastador, tal como o quanto a psicanálise poderia fazer amparo nesse contexto.

The present study stemmed from the author's genuine desire to further understand the subtleties behind the mother-infant relationship. Throughout the clinical experience, it became empirically evident that this dynamic constitutes a fundamental moment throughout the subject's life. The initial hypothesis was to investigate the extent to which the baby's psychic, cognitive, and even physical development could be affected by the relationship with the mother. For this reason, the Instituto da Primeira Infância (IPREDE), specifically the Mediation Unit, was chosen to assess the nuances of this dyad. Two mothers and their respective children were selected for further investigation. The study was grounded in a psychoanalytic epistemological framework, prioritizing therapeutic consultations as the primary research methodology, alongside a bibliographic review of classical and contemporary psychoanalytic authors. Ultimately, the study shed light on what this science has to say about the process of mothering in contexts of social vulnerability. Through listening to the mothers, it became evident how delving deeper into this theme remains relevant and necessary. As Winnicott (1957/2021) pointed out, mothers will always represent a fundamental debt for every man or woman constituted as a subject. Furthermore, assuming this already inherently vulnerable role from a marginalized position in society can lead to devastating helplessness—raising the crucial question of how psychoanalysis can provide support in such a context.
