O presente trabalho indaga de que forma se apresenta a inconsistência do Outro através do trágico na tragédia antiga e moderna nas seguintes obras: Medeia, Alceste e Gota D´Água. A partir dessa problematização, a pesquisa realizou uma análise discursiva de obras trágicas que representam o momento histórico: antigo (Medeia e Alceste) e moderno (Gota D´Água). Para cada momento, uma obra foi selecionada por ser considerada consistente para representar a subjetivação do período histórico do sujeito trágico e os componentes da inconsistência do Outro no campo simbólico. O trabalho tem como objetivo geral investigar como se apresenta na tragédia a articulação do conceito lacaniano inconsistência do Outro com a Outra cena do trágico e a hybris na heroína. Os objetivos específicos são: discutir a articulação da Outra cena do trágico na homologia entre teatro e psicanálise e desenvolver a articulação da dimensão do trágico e da inconsistência do Outro nas tragédias Alceste, Medeia e Gota D´Água, apresentando as semelhanças e diferenças das estruturas narrativas. Conclui-se que a dimensão do trágico e da inconsistência do Outro é diferente na antiguidade e modernidade; porém, os heróis são todos acometidos por uma hybris (desmesura) que os levam a um ato trágico, que os arrastam à ruína. Assim, ressalta-se que na tragédia antiga procura um apelo à lei e, na moderna, à razão.

The present work asks how the Other's inconsistency is presented through the tragic in the ancient and modern tragedy in the following works: Medeia, Alceste and Gota D´Água. From this problematization, the research carried out a discursive analysis of tragic works that represent the historical moment: ancient (Medeia and Alceste) and modern (Gota D´Água). For each moment, a work was selected because it is considered consistent to represent the subjectivity of the tragic subject's historical period and the components of the Other's inconsistency in the symbolic field. The general objective of the work is to investigate how the articulation of the Lacanian concept of the Other's inconsistency with the Other scene of the tragic and the hybris in the heroine is presented in the tragedy. The specific objectives are: to discuss the articulation of the Other scene of the tragic in the homology between theater and psychoanalysis and to develop the articulation of the dimension of the tragic and the inconsistency of the Other in the Alceste, Medeia and Gota D´Água tragedies, presenting the similarities and differences of the structures narratives. It is concluded that the dimension of the tragic and the inconsistency of the Other is different in antiquity and modernity; however, the heroes are all affected by a hybris (immoderation) that leads them to a tragic act, which drag them to ruin. Thus, it is emphasized that in the ancient tragedy it seeks an appeal to the law and, in the modern, to reason.
