Buscou-se caracterizar o nível de engajamento e exaustão de profissionais das medidas socioeducativas, verificando fatores a eles relacionados (Estudo I), assim como a percepção dos referidos profissionais acerca do seu nível de engajamento/exaustão (Estudo II). No primeiro estudo, 131 profissionais das Unidades de internação em Fortaleza, CE [54,2% sexo masculino; idade média de 34,16 anos (DP = 9,32)] responderam a instrumentos que avaliavam características sociodemográficas, laborais, aspectos relacionados às demandas de trabalho, recursos pessoais (autoeficácia e sentido do trabalho), assim como escalas de engajamento e exaustão. Análises descritivas (frequência, porcentagem, média, desvio-padrão) e inferenciais (Teste-T, ANOVA, correlações e regressão linear) foram calculadas no SPSS. Verificou-se que os profissionais tendem a estabelecer uma relação positiva com seu trabalho (elevado grau de recursos pessoais e profissionais e menor nível de demandas e exaustão), minimizando as possibilidades de esgotamento e adoecimento psíquico. Além disso, verificou-se que o grupo de maior engajamento se caracterizava por ter pós-graduação, ser servidor público, ter mais de 5 anos de trabalho na rede, pertencer a cargos de gestão e não trabalhar em regime de plantão; ao passo que o grupo com maior nível de exaustão foi formado por pessoas que trabalham sob regime de contrato temporário, têm até 1 ano de atuação e pertencem ao eixo pedagógico/segurança. O menor nível de demanda e maior sentido do trabalho predisse o engajamento; enquanto que o alto grau de demandas e baixo grau de recursos e de sentido do trabalho predisse a exaustão emocional. No segundo estudo, de delineamento qualitativo, 5 profissionais - sendo três integrantes da equipe técnica e dois coordenadores de segurança - responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada, a qual foi analisada com ajuda do Software Iramuteq. Cinco classes de análise foram geradas: 1) rotina das unidades socioeducativas: demandas de trabalho dos profissionais; 2) gestão de conflitos nas unidades: da mediação à polícia; 3) recursos pessoais e institucionais relacionados ao exercício da profissão; 4) aspectos relacionados ao contexto de trabalho e à seleção pública de 2017; e 5) indicadores de esgotamento laboral: adversidades e adoecimento profissional. Embora nesse estudo os participantes tenham destacado com maior intensidade que no primeiro estudo os indicadores (equipe reduzida; insalubridade; baixo salário; fragilidade do vínculo empregatício; dentre outros) que podem conduzir o profissional a um processo de adoecimento físico e psicológico, também se constatou que a relevância social de sua prática para os adolescentes e o relacionamento positivo entre os profissionais podem atuar no sentido de justificar a permanência dos profissionais nas instituições socioeducativas. Conclui-se que os contextos têm influência direta na saúde desses profissionais, o que resgata a importância de se olhar para suas condições de trabalho e para aspectos ligados à saúde mental, promovendo, desse modo, avanços na realidade socioeducativa.

This study aimed to characterize the level of engagement and exhaustion of professionals in socio-educational measures, verifying related factors (Study I), as well as the perception of these professionals about their level of engagement / exhaustion (Study II). In the first study, 131 professionals from the detention units in Fortaleza, CE [54.2% male; mean age of 34.16 years (SD = 9.32)] responded to instruments that assessed sociodemographic, labor, aspects related to work demands, personal resources (self-efficacy and sense of work), as well as engagement and exhaustion scales. Descriptive analyzes (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential (T-test, ANOVA, correlations and linear regression) were calculated in the SPSS. It was verified that professionals tend to establish a positive relation with their work (high level of personal and professional resources and lower demands and exhaustion), minimizing the possibilities of exhaustion and psychic illness. In addition, it was found that the group with the greatest engagement was characterized by having a postgraduate degree, being a public servant, having more than 5 years working in the network, holding management positions and not working in shifts; while the group with the highest level of exhaustion was formed by people working under a temporary contract, have up to 1 year of work and belong to the pedagogical / security axis. The lower demand and higher sense of work predicted engagement; while the high levels of demands and low resources and sense of work predicted emotional exhaustion. In the second study, with a qualitative design, 5 professionals - three members of the technical team and two safety coordinators - responded to a semistructured interview, which was analyzed with the help of Iramuteq Software. Five classes of analysis were generated: 1) routine of socio-educational units: work demands of professionals; 2) conflict management in the units: from mediation to the police; 3) personal and institutional resources related to the exercise of the profession; 4) aspects related to the work context and the public selection of 2017; and 5) indicators of labor exhaustion: adversity and occupational illness. Although in this study the participants emphasized more strongly that in the first study the indicators (reduced team, insalubrity, low salary, fragility of the employment relationship, among others) that can lead the professional to a process of physical and psychological illness, that the social relevance of their practice for adolescents and the positive relationship between professionals can act in the sense of justifying the permanence of professionals in socio-educational institutions. It is
concluded that work contexts have a direct influence on the health of these professionals, which highlights the importance of looking at their working conditions and aspects related to mental health, thus promoting advances in the socio-educational reality.
