As mudanças que vêm ocorrendo a partir das últimas décadas do século XX no mundo do trabalho, em especial no trabalho de homens e mulheres do campo têm afetado o modo de sentir, pensar e viver do agricultor familiar a sua atividade laboral. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza exploratória e descritiva com abordagem qualitativa que teve como propósito analisar as redes sociais de trabalho de agricultores familiares buscando identificar os aspectos estruturais e relacionais presentes nas redes e descrever o contexto de trabalho dos participantes. Participaram da pesquisa oito agricultores do município de Maranguape, Ceará, Brasil. Utilizou-se entrevista semiestruturada, observação participante, fotografias e o instrumento gerador de nomes para a coleta de dados. Os dados foram trabalhados com a Análise de Conteúdo e a Análise de Redes Sociais utilizando o software UCINET 6.630. Os participantes falaram da longa jornada de trabalho e do acúmulo de funções que exercem. As redes de trabalho informal dos participantes são formadas basicamente por laços de amizade e de parentesco. Os participantes utilizam o capital social presente nas redes para realizar uma produção que não conseguiriam apenas com a força de trabalho da família. Conclui-se que o contexto de trabalho é precário podendo gerar sofrimento físico e mental para a saúde dos participantes. Isto tem sido compensado com as redes de trabalho que envolvem amizade, confiança, reciprocidade e cooperação influenciando de maneira positiva e possibilitando prazer na realização do trabalho e bem estar físico, mental e social para esses trabalhadores e trabalhadoras.

The changes that have been occurring since the most recent twentieth century in the world of work, especially in the work of men and women of the countryside with affected the way of feeling, think and live the family farmer in his work activity. This is an exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach, whose analytical purpose was the social work networks of family farmers trying to identify the resources and relational present in networks and to describe the working context of the participants. Eight farmers from the municipality of Maranguape, Ceará, Brazil, participated in the study. He used a semi-structured interview, participatory observation, photographs and the instrument to generate names for data collection. The data were worked with a Content Analysis and Analysis of Social Networks, using the software UCINET 6.630. The participants spoke of the long working day and the accumulation of functions they perform. As informal networks of participants are formed basically by bonds of friendship and kinship. The participants use the social capital present in the networks to realize a production that did not only obtain a work force of the family. It concludes that the work context is precarious and can generate physical and mental suffering for a health of the participants. This has been compensated with how networks of work involving friendship, trust, reciprocity and companies influencing in a positive way and allowing pleasure in the accomplishment of work and physical, mental and social well being for workers.
